Is it weird to buy your parents/in laws underwear for Christmas?

Just to clarify- I brought father in law boxers with the grinch on that say ‘I hate Christmas’ 😂. They match the grinch top I brought for him too 😂. My husband laughed and said it’s weird. He also has lots of other presents to open too, it’s not the only thing he has. 
To make it controversial- would your answer change depending on who brought the underwear and who they were giving it to? And why do you feel this makes a difference?

It depends. Those sound fun if you have a close relationship. I’d be weirded out by anyone other than my partner buying me bras/lingerie though.

I don’t think it’s ever weird to give people underwear for Christmas as long as it is funny/basic in nature and as long as you know they wouldn’t feel weird or creeped out by it. 
Giving your friend a pack of basic but cute Hanes with other non-underwear items ✅
Giving your friend a hot red and black lacy Victoria’s Secret add 2 cups push up bra and nothing else unless they specifically requested that item ❌
“Friend” can be substituted with pretty much anyone and I still think it’s fine as long as you know they’d like it.

Given my family gives PJ sets, socks, etc, getting underwear wouldn't bother me unless it was the wrong size. 
So no I don't find it weird, and this is coming from someone who got a gift card from a bra store from her grandpa.

I think it depends on the type of relationship you have and the kind of undies you give... what you described sounds perfectly fine and funny.  I could never give my father in law underwear lol because we just do NOT have that type of relationship lol.

I find this question so funny because I am the designer for an underwear company so everyone gets underwear from me all the time 😂 our motto is, ‘it’s only weird if you make it weird’ ... I know WAY too much about the underwear preferences of my family, friends, and even strangers who find out what I do and just start talking to me. Underwear talk is just basic language to me now

They are just boxers. Totally fine!! I had a cousin get me a lacy thong one year that I opened in front of my entire family. I was maybe 22. Now that was weird!!

I think it could be a bit awkward to give something so personal but it would depend on the person(giver & receiver). 
I bought my dad and FIL socks that said #1 Grandpa for Fathers Day but that’s about as I would go. Lol!

Both of my parents would die if I gave them underwear. lol My dad wouldn't even fold our underwear (three girls) when the laundry was done.

My father-in-law is 85 and I don't even want to think about underwear for him.
