Summer lovin’

I met this guy last summer while working at a summer camp.

The first week All the counselors had to get together and do silly little activities to get to know each other. It was my first summer there so I remember being quite nervous and eager to make new friends at this camp.

One of the days that I came in for breakfast I remember him sitting with his group of friends in watching at me from across the dining hall and he just wouldn’t stop looking at me. He would do this at ever meal time for weeks until he decided to sit at my table.

At the time a girl i knew really liked him and she would sit with him all the time. So when he sat with me, he got up form her table and left her with the rest of his group.

I remember telling myself that I was not going to get involved with anyone at that camp because I live several states away and it would’ve been too much to get involved.

Whenever we had our days off he would get a little bit tipsy before he would talk to me because Otherwise he was always too shy to ever really have a conversation with me. At one point i thought he was interested until i saw him in the bar on our day off with another girl. He was shit faced drunk and the girl was almost passed out. I heard from some friends that they had made out a few times. When i came in the bar he looked at me and started looking nervous. He moved away from the girl a bit and walked towards the bathroom.

I shook it off and started killing it on the dance floor with some friends moments later he was dancing behind me and rapping the lyrics to a song we both knew.

There are times where I didn’t want to help him out by going up in making the first move but I was always discouraged because there are times where I would see him with other girls, so I guess nothing really happened but I always wondered what he was thinking.

Later that summer i found a guy that i thought was sooo cute. We would sit together ever day and i could see guy # 1 fiercely staring at us. One night me and guy two were talking late at night in front of his cabin and we started playing cards.

I didn’t know that guy # 1 slept in that cabin too, so later that night guy # 1 comes right up to us and tries to talk to us. I offer to let him play cards too. Later guy # 1 get mad and and told me “fuck you and your game” and walked off.

Anyway the day he left he saw me right as he got in his car and he looked incredibly sad and he looked at me for a sec and then said bye.

Til this day i cant get over it. We barely spoke but i cant help but think there was something... he always was flirting it seemed but even when he was flirting i would see him stealing glances at me.

Anyway maybe we’ll find out next summer :/
