Is it too soon to be having contractions?

I’m 37 weeks and 2 days, I’m having mild contractions in my lower stomach but it’s bearable and they are 5 minutes apart. Isn’t it too early to be having them.

I’ve been having contractions off and on since 36 week now I’m 37w5 days and they are coming more in my belly and sometime my lower back. Considered full term so should be fine
