Hcg levels taper?

Question

I was always told that hcg should double or something is wrong. I’m six weeks tomorrow.
My hcg level on 12/4 was 1649
My hcg level yesterday was 24100
My nurse told me to stay positive and it’s still in the normal range. I have an ultrasound on Monday.
The more I look into it the more I see Hcg levels start rising every 3/4 days week 5/6. My doctor didn’t fess over that information so I’m confused.

From what I read they double up to around 1200, then it usually takes closer to 72 hours till 6000.  After that it takes usually about 4 days. 
According to wed md anyways. 
I was curious too. Last Wednesday mine was over 43,000 and I thought “if it keeps doubling it will be over 250,000”. I’ve been told it rarely goes over that, especially not in the first trimester! Lol. 
I go for my second part of 48 hour tests today, so I’ll know more tomorrow when the results are in.

I guess it kind of makes sense. My hcg seemed to rise quickly in the beginning so when she gave me a lower number then I was counting on— I cried on the phone lol. She told me to rush to judgement till Monday, I’m getting an ultrasound.
