fake nails..? whats 'full set' and 'orginal acrylic nails'

hey ladies.. I'm new to this fake nails thing and I see in some stores they have full set but like last year I got the original acrylic nail.. what's the difference? I really don't want to pay so much cause I paid the original acrylic nails for $20 and the full set is $17.99. whats the difference ?

added: also isn't coffin style, bellerina, etc are different prices? so so far I see full set so that must be the original style and if you want something else is more pricey... 
Also isn't the original set tips are thick?

“Glue on” nails that you buy in a store will not add strength and they don’t last as long. Acrylic nails should only be done by professionals, and the material and process has been created to last a year, with bi-weekly “maintenance” visits to the salon. “Gel sets” are a newer acrylic product that should also be applied by professionals, and are made to last a year with maintenance as well. “Dip kits” are polish and powder acrylic kits that add strength but are made to be a strong polish, as well as “gel polish” and light kits. Gel polish and dip kits do not need to be applied by professionals and are more similar to regular polish, but they are stronger. All nail sets and strong polished must be removed by soaking in acetone polish remover.

That's odd because the shops where I live they have either Acrylic full sets or Gel full sets which just means getting the nail tip glued on with Gel or acrylic over it
