Salaam alaikum sisters! So I am in a process of becoming a permanent resident of the USA.(originally from canada) and just wanted to know if any of you ladies have gone thru the process and if so how long was the wait time for you? I’ve already gone thru my biometric scan and just waiting to hear back. TIA ❤️

Salam! I filed for my husband and he just got his green card a few weeks ago (end of dec. 2017) We had a receipt date for the application of March 7, 2016. The hardest part was just waiting for the notices to come in the mail. We kept calling and asking about the status and they would send a letter saying they’re backed up and will get to our case when they do. We did biometrics and the Health physical twice since it expires after one year. We had our interview mid nov 2017. I was very nervous and had all documents ready to go. The interviewer was very stern during the interview but after was smiling and laughing with us. Alhamdulliah it all worked out in the end. You just have to have patience and go through the process. Inshallah it will all go well for you ❤️

Last month marked a year for us, we finally got scheduled for our initial interview which is at the end of the month inshallah  
The work permit you will get fast about 3 months from there you can get your social and state ID
