Sex Ed (Angry)

The Sex Ed in our schools is completely outrageous. (I'm 13 and have just completed my schools health course)

When they announced the mandatory course, I hoped for an informative class about safe intercourse, consent, and STDs, but expected the whole, you'll get pregnant and die thing.

I was so wrong.

They took the boys in the gym and the girls in the library, (understandable; we're very immature), and began teaching. Throughout the month of December, we learned about periods and taking showers. That's it.

And what did the boys learn? The whole 9 yards. My guy friend told me they learned about everything there is to know about sex, but nothing about consent, safety, or protection.

I am so mad. They're only hurting us. There are two pregnant girls at my school who are in very bad situations. If we'd had proper education, just maybe this could be avoided.
