How to get vomit smell off of car seat straps?

My son has a stomach bug and vomited on the way home today, all over his carseat straps. 🤢 How do I get the smell out of the fabric of the straps??

Answer

Wipe down with baby wipes or a mild soap on a damp wash cloth. The straps can’t be saturated or use any harsh chemicals or febreeze type product. It’s in the manual and it can degrade the integrity of the straps. 
Wipe them down then set them in the sun and it will “cook out” the smell. 
An open box of baking soda in the car can help absorb odors until it is gone if needed. Just not directly on any part of the seat.

I use water and a bit of soap. I gently rub the straps and let them dry then repeat if necessary
