Starting real contractions?

I’m 38+5 weeks today. Last night between 8 and 9pm I realized I was having some mild cramps with lower back pain. It didn’t seem consistent so I got my two year old to sleep and then went to bed myself. I woke up around 1 and was still having the cramps and back pain although still not consistent and not getting stronger. I fell back asleep around 2:30am and woke up at about 7am this morning. Again I’m still having the cramps and back pain but still not consistent and not getting stronger. I’ve been drinking plenty, tried different positions, etc and nothing makes them go away so I figure I’m in very early pre-labor. Any tips on keeping them going so they become real contractions? I already take evening primrose oil, use a birthing ball, and yesterday I tried my pump for the first time and I’m hoping to try to use it again today too. It’s too cold for me to go for a walk. Any other suggestions?
