Tax Bill and Bonuses

Hello Campers! It’s been awhile! Recently several large corporations gave out $1000 Bonuses to some of their employees after the passing of the new Tax Bill. My company was one of them. My husband also works here so we walked away $2000 richer (minus a 38% tax 😳). I make less than $35,000, I have a 1year old and bills, I am a Democrat, I voted for Hillary in the last election, Trump disgusts me to my core. Many people online shared their opinion that people like me should not have accepted the bonus because the Tax Bill is the reason we got it, and we shouldn’t benefit from money brought about from a source we don’t support. So I thought you CCers would love to sink your teeth into this one. Thoughts?

Btw I’m on my lunch break and starving, that’s why the sandwich option is there.
