I'm not even pregnant, but I'm pretty bugged about this...
Before I start, let me just say I KNOW this is petty and ridiculous. So I have an older brother who has a 2 year old son that I love more than anything in this world. Being an Aunt is the best title I've ever had. So both of my parents are already grandparents and I've never really even thought twice about it.
My husband is the first born in his family, and neither of his brothers have kids, so his parents are not yet grandparents technically. However, my BIL has this best friend who had a rough upbringing and was accepted into their family and calls my MIL "mom". This best friends name is Michael. Michael and his girlfriend, Rebecca, recently had a baby boy. (Not their real names btw).
So anyway, my husband and I have been losely considering TTC lately, and we were talking to my BIL about it a few days ago. Rebecca and Michael were there and I said something about trying to have a baby, and Rebecca said to me AND I QUOTE, "Don't bother. (MIL) already has a grandbaby and she'll never love yours like she loves him." BITCH WHAT?! First of all, he's not her grandbaby. Second of all, you don't just stop loving one baby because a new one has come around. And I'm pretty sure you can love more than one child. I am pretty bugged about all this. I mean, the thought of giving my in-laws their first grandchild is pretty exciting, especially after seeing how good they are with Michael and Rebecca's little boy. But I kinda feel like she just shit on my parade a little bit. She's always been a bitch but this...?!
Am I wrong for being irritated with her? Also, am I wrong for thinking that the "second" grandbaby is just as special as the "first"?
