How long was your anatomy scan?

I had my scan this week and the tech went so fast through it that the scan was over in 15 minutes. Later that day at my appointment, my OB said that we’d get more pictures at my 24 week appointment in 4 weeks because the tech didn’t get all of the pictures that we needed (of the heart 😳 and face). He doctor said that what he saw looked great, he just wanted more pictures. 
I guess I’m just frustrated because the heart is a BIG deal. I’m a peds CVICU nurse, so I KNOW exactly what they’re looking for and I’m frustrated that the tech didn’t even attempt have me change positions or anything to put the baby in better view.   I feel good that I was able to see all four chambers of Henry’s heart, but still aggravated that I have to wait another 4 weeks and be worried that much longer.

Mine was about 30 minutes. She went over her whole body, showing us everything. Measuring everything. 
She told us we might have to come back as well because she couldn’t get the pictures she needed even though earlier in the apt she saw what she needed. She told us the doctor wants pictures for proof though!

Mine was about an hour. She was very thorough, letting us know what she was doing and what she was measuring. I also had to take a break and walk around to get the baby to move, he was stubborn and we ended up going back to finish the scan 2 weeks later.

I visited a private imaging centre & paid a lot but my scan went for about 45 minutes & we got to see her in all different angles, we got photos & they actually plug in a USB & record the entire scan with sound. I’ve watched the part where she revealed the gender so many times. It takes me back & I cry every time. 
I’m not trying to rub it in but I found paying for a premium service I definitely got what I paid for. I’m sorry you feel you missed out. Luckily you get a 24 week scan. In Australia we only get 12w & 20w.
Hopefully you get a different technician next time. Also maybe you should complain about your service & supply a list of everything you & your dr wish to see on arrival next time. 😘

At 20 weeks my ultrasound was about 30 minutes. I even got up to use the restroom to see if baby would get into a more favorable position. The tech couldn't get pics of the heart or profile so we had to go back at 22 weeks. I was worried like you because as you say, the heart is a big concern. Everything ended up looking great in the end. Try not too worry too much and good luck at your next ultrasound!

I only get one ultrasound in the first trimester and one ultrasound in the second. Our 20 week ultrasound was scheduled to be 45 minutes long, but lasted an hour because the baby was moving a lot and the tech wanted to be sure to get everything.

Mine was about 15 minutes.  She said the doctor would have to check the pictures first to decide if we would have to come back for more, but she felt confident that she got everything.  And the doctor said everything looked good.  So maybe the tech thought the pictures were adequate but the doctor disagreed

Mine was an hour long but something was wrong with cord and placenta so we get a sono every month to make sure she is ok
