Should I tell my boyfriend what’s bothering me?

Ok, so every time marriage comes up in a conversation with my bf it always goes left. For example, I have expressed many times about what I would like my future to be. Although tomorrow isn’t promised to anyone, and we’re not at the place of getting married, I’ve told him how I don’t believe in having children before marriage; however, I don’t judge people who do have children before marriage, it’s just not for me.

So today I told him that one of my good friends is engaged. So, my bf goes on to say “see she had a daughter before she got married, you need to change how you think”. Like what the heck, that’s obviously something that works for her, but it doesn’t work for me! Am I wrong to express to him how I feel about marriage, & my beliefs? (Although I know he’s going to say I took it the wrong way, & blowing everything out of proportion 🙄)
