How prepare 2 year old for baby sister?

Just found out yesterday that my son will be joined by a baby sister.  He didn’t seem to really care at the ultrasound lol, I know he’s not even 2 yet, he’s started to realize what a baby is and likes looking at her pictures. But how can I further prepare my son for a baby? I think he’s going to be a good big brother. He kisses and hugs my tummy. But I just don’t want him to like not he interested when she gets here I want my kids to have a good relationship, and I know I can’t help if he feels like That.

When the baby gets here, make sure you keep him really involved in all the baby activities, it should help if you let him “help” out with the baby.

My daughter turned 3 a few weeks before I had my second. She really showed no interest at all until we brought the baby home and now she won’t leave her baby sister alone! She really didn’t seem to under the concept behind being a big sister but it all worked out.

definitely try getting him a baby doll! it seems silly but look up "baby doll circle time" on youtube. they do it at the daycare where I work and it really does teach empathy and caring. the repetitive songs help them learn what is expected while playing with baby. by them tickling (or "burping", kissing, etc) their baby doll, they basically strengthen the connections you've built in their brain when you have done those things with him. just like how it kind of brings you back to your childhood to tickle your own kids. and when actual baby comes along, you can do the songs with baby while your son does them with his baby doll. or he can help you tickle or kiss baby while you sing and hold them. have him help in any decisions he can be involved in (like picking the color choice of the carseat, things like that) my daughter will be 17 months when baby #2 arrives and I've been quite nervous about it but it always works out in the end. when baby arrives, have your son help as much as possible. 2 year olds like feeling helpful, it's another way they learn empathy too. have him fetch you diapers or pacifiers,  choose between 2 outfits for baby, choose which book to read to baby, things like that.
