Do you shave before going to see your obgyn??

Is it not appropriate to not shave before?? Will the doctor make fun of me to his staff?? I want to be lazy and not care but I'm afraid that will cost me embarrassment.

Honestly I bluntly asked my OB/GYN what he thought and we both had a good laugh about it. He told me “it’s my job to check your vaginal health, not how you decide to ‘scape’ it. We don’t care what you do with your hair, so whatever is more comfortable for you.” So now I just trim it up and don’t deal with painful ingrown hairs 🤷🏻‍♀️

I don't care. She's down there for 3 minutes. She's seen it all. I'm clean and showered and find shaving unnecessary.

Since they are professionals in vaginal health care, I’m very sure they have seen many female genitals of different sizes, colors, shapes and different types of grooming methods. It’d be very unprofessional if your OBGYN decided to go around and tell his staff about how you decide to trim up your hedges. I believe since an OBGYN is a doctor, they need to keep the details of your body confidential.

I didn't do anything, I rarely shave anyway. She didn't care and it was over in like a minute. Do what you want!

I just trim with a specific pair of scissors when I start getting caught in my clothes. 🤷‍♀️ Just trim it down, because shaving might make it look odd and it's hella work, and you're already insecure about their opinion, so trim if you'd like. it's the best of both worlds. My female Gyn was super friendly and made the whole experience less awkward for it being my first time.
