Dryness while on birth control pills?

Intimacy is way more painful and dry since I've started birth control again. I haven't taken it since 2014 so I wanted to see if you ladies have ever had this same issue. What were some of your solutions, if any?

My gyno said it's a common side effect, because the changes in hormones dries out the skin and causes it to thin a little. Use lots of lube, you can also moisturise down there. If the problem persists I believe there are prescription creams that can help ease the dryness
