Shootings In 2018

It is 2018 and we have already had 18 cases of shootings on campuses all around the us with the most recent on killing 17 students and injuring 15. I can see we are all getting down to “why didn’t they have more cops” “they should have had more metal detectors” and so on. I am a 15 year old girl and I have to have drills about having someone come in and shooting up he school, which shouldn’t happen. The shootings have been dreadful tragedies and I can only imagine what it’s like to see this happen or be part on this. The kid that shot up the school in Florida posted guns and more on social media, and pulled the fire alarm to get his (ex)classmates out of the classes so he could open fire, he was 19. A 19 year old with an assault rifle and more at home, walked into his school he got expelled from and shot the people he knew. It is not the schools fault for letting him in with an assault rifle because they should not have to worry about this; it is the government’s for letting him own that gun and many more when he is mentally ill, depressed, and has behavioral problems (which got him expelled). Other countries don’t have this problem, but we still have yet to learn, and this is an on going problem, there’s drills and procedures we have to do to try and survive if this does happen, And I am truly sad to see that this is my generation and we cannot stop killing our selves off because of the laws made by people in the 1700’s.
