Bumpers
So I see it a lot on the internet, that cot bumpers can lead to SIDS and yet when I really look into it bumpers can lead to accidental suffocation which is not SIDS but sometimes confused with it. The worrying thing is that people think once their baby is 6 months they're safe and can do whatever they want in their cots. I recently bought a bedding set which includes a bumper, the bumper has long ties and comes with a warning. The warning states that cot bumpers must be removed once your baby is more active or at 6 months and that cot bumpers should be checked before every nap or sleep in the cot to avoid suffocation risk.
So I have two questions, why do people have incorrect information so often about safe sleeping procedures? And if instructions are followed religiously would you deem it safe to use a cot bumper?
My parents used one for me and my three sisters but checked it every night and it never even came loose so it had me wondering.
