Also I know nothing about how to practice safe sex. Abstinence is the outlying thing that was taught at my school

Everything necessary for sexual health and understanding one’s body. That would include body parts, the reproductive system, safe sex and birth control(inclusive of, but not limited to, abstinence), masturbation, physical and emotional sexual health, CONSENT!!!, sexuality, gender, and LGBQT+ sexual health. 
The only thing it didn’t need to cover is “how to” in the sense of it being like a “how to give your man such great head he builds and alter to you” Cosmo article.

How bodies work, how to have safe sex, how you get pregnant, diseases and risks that come with sex, consent, all of it.

Lgbtq+ topics, sexual emotional health, and consent need to be taught. Also I feel that teens should learn what caring for a baby really takes (bills, schedules, time, energy, lack of sleep etc.) Along with other topics, but I feel these things are ignored across the board.

When I was in school, we were taught everything. Male anatomy, female anatomy, the ins and outs of how sex worked, what it could cause (stds) and what it could create (babies). It was all very technical. We even had special teachers come in who weren’t our regular ones so that we wouldn’t be embarrassed to ask questions. It’s a good thing we had this kind of education because my parents never had a talk with me about it. We had sex ed in 4th grade, I think. And in health class in junior high.

I think girls should understand how their body works, what their organs do, diseases and ailments we can face... “Having sex” is the easy part. Let’s actually educate people on their bodies, how they function, the hormones and what they do. 
I think it’s equally important for boys to understand their own bodies, how they work, what it takes to get a girl pregnant, and their responsibilities to keep themselves and others safe. 
I think it’s ridiculous across the board how many people do not even understand how their body works, what it needs to be healthy, foods or exposures to chemicals that are dangerous, and even down to how much water our body needs daily. I’m tired of seeing the ignorance.
