Runny nose, no fever?

My recently turned one year old daughter woke up the other day with a snotty nose but had no fever. She actually had an appointment that day and her temperature was 98.0. She has no cough and no other symptoms of a cold though besides the snotty nose. She only sounds congested when she wakes up but seems fine throughout the day. She is cutting a tooth. Her doctor did not mention anything about it and I really wish I asked. Any thoughts?
