I had an appointment Feb 28th I told them she was moving less but I was still get 10 kicks in an hour. My ob said my fluid was low and my blood pressure was high so she asked me to drink fluids and then go to labor and delivery to be checked to see if they would keep me or not.
I got to labor and delivery and they took my back and and immediately said I was staying to have my little peanut. The hooked up my iv and got me into my room
They started out with cytotec and waited 4 hours to see my progress which I had dilated to a 1
They then inserted a foully bulb to get my dilated to a 3 and that fell out after 2 hours so they decided they wanted to start me on pitocin. I’ve heard pitocin is painful so I got my epidural before. Once I got the pitocin baby’s heart rate kept going down but nothing concerning yet they just gave me an oxygen mask
Once they got her heart rate normal they came to break my water, but then they said there just might not be a Pugh fluid to pour out so I said okay... they had to come back and they actually broke it the second time.
More time passed and baby’s heart rate started dipping so they had me lay on my left side, but she started to not like that either so they had me sit up straight which was painful as hell feeling like I was squishing my insides and ribs. Eventually the nurse came back in and said I could try laying back now but instantly her heart rate dropped again and doctors came rushing in to make sure baby was okay which was pretty stressful.
Everyone thought I’d end up having a c section but the doctor came back and checked me and I was 9 cm dilated literally 15 minutes after he checked me I NEEDED to push. They said oh just labor for 30 minutes more and I said no I need to push NOW lol he came back in and I was 10 cm
So I started pushing and everyone’s cheering me on telling me to push telling me I’m doing a great job and it was awesome the epidural was working fantastic I wasn’t in pain just felt sooo much pressure and it was so relieving to push oh my god.
So I keep pushing and another doctor said since baby’s heart rate keeps dipping low I would need help from forceps so they pulled her out and she came out crying and it was absolutely beautiful.
I didn’t want to do skin to skin until they got her situated and I was finished myself so my husband bonded with her while I got stitched up from a 3rd degree tear which is no fun.
It was all worth it though and it seems like such a blur now. I’m so in love with my little princess. It’s so surreal. Good luck to all you mommies getting ready to meet your little ones.
