Do you have a joint account with your partner ? Or your money is your money and his money is his money ? 
This seems to be the issue between us. It’s always about money with him! 😑

We have seperate accounts. We both pay half the rent. He’ll pay for bills and I’ll pay for groceries. We pay for our own petrol and our own things. We buy each other things. We both pay for what our son needs. If he needs money, I give him mine. If I need money, he gives me his. Without hesitation. It’s “ours” we just don’t need to control it as seriously as some. But in saying that, we both make the same money. Itd be different if you’re living off one income.. or making less than him, or vice versa 🤷‍♀️

Separate checking, joint savings. He pays the mortgage, electric, cable/Internet, car, etc. I pay for the fun stuff, the savings is for different things/ currently another new car

Joint account from the day we got married. It’s our money. Now I’m a SAHM and I deal with all the finances and budget even though he is the only one bringing home a paycheck. We are a team. It’s our money. Not mine or his.

We have a joint account, BUT we didn't get it until we had been married for over a year. I am very independent, and don't like relying on anyone for financial help. I made sure that 1) I could handle myself if something ever happened, and 2) that he could be trusted to make sound financial decisions.

Only he has an account. I don’t even own a checking account. It’s all him. He shares it with me when I need it, I know the number, we share the card, he pays all the bills. I think it’s a pretty good compromise. I am raising his child and do all the housework, cooking, and yard work (4.5 acres). He works a hard job and makes the good money.

We have separate checking accounts and joint savings. We split the bills 50/50. We make close to the same amount and get paid opposite each other. 
It works really well!
