Am I just being “rude”?

So me and the father of my child broke up when I was around 4 months pregnant. I’m now 33 weeks   And we have agreed to just co parent.  Now I have no interests in this man.  Whatever we once had is dead. But he always trying to have a conversation with me.  He texts me all day.   I don’t mind if he texts me and see how I’m doing or if I need anything or what not but  other then that I have nothing to say to him.   
He really just annoys me and I don’t even give him a response. Everytime he texts me he gets a one world response unless we talking about the baby and what we need to do before I go into labor

Yeah there's no reason you can't be friendly even if you don't want to be with him. I get a long great with my ex husband and his wife. It's better for our kids that we are all friends. They tell my husband happy father's day and I tell my kids step mother happy mother's day. We talk about the kids together and even wish each other happy birthday. Just because you aren't together doesn't mean you have to dislike each other too. It's good you want to co parent but it's better if your child can see a good friendly relationship between you and the father as well. Try to keep an open mind. Draw your boundary lines clearly but you can still be nice.

If he's just saying hi and shooting the breeze, be responsive and polite. It's nice that he cares about the well being of his child's mother, and is wanting a friendship.  But no if he's chatting you up all day "what did you have for lunch? Let me tell you what I had for lunch. Whatcha watching on Netflix tonight? I'm watching Shark Tank, don't you just love Mr Wonderful" then no you definitely have the right to be distanced and not engage on that level.

You’re not being rude 🙄 you simply have boundaries that you want to be respected and that’s fine. You’re not at a place with him where you desire all the chit chat and small talk and THATS OKAY!!
let him know that you want to peacefully coparent but just don’t feel the need or desire to have anything more than that right now. 
That could very well change in the coming months and years and you two could develop a genuine friendship but you do NOT have to be friends and talk all the time to be healthy and successful coparents.

I think hes just trying to be polite. I find it very considerate that he cares enough about making the situation you are both in work that he is trying to have a friendly relationship with you.

My ex husband and I get along decently.  We have twins who are 9 and a little one who is almost 6.  I am currently engaged to and pregnant with someone else, so there will never be a rekindling between us.  But, we can call each other about the kids and have a 20 minute conversation.  It's not an every day thing though.  A lot of times if I'm busy and he calls, I'll either not answer or just give him quick answers and that's it.  Same for texts.  But I am really grateful we get along, because our kids don't feel tension during drop offs and pick ups, and they don't have to be "in the middle" messengers for us.

I think he misses you and he writes to you so many times.. also be thankful that he is asking about the baby and he’s being involved..

It would probably make things a lot more pleasant in the long run if you could at least be friendly with one another.
