Early gender scans?

Here in the U.K. the early gender scans are done from 16 weeks but I've got many friends who have gone at 15 weeks and they've been able to tell. 
When did you all have your private early gender scan and was it correct?

I waited for my 20 week NHS scan as that’s more accurate and I’m going to wait this pregnancy as well. 
My friend paid for an early gender scan, they told her it was a Girl, she was so happy, picked the name and started to buy things. 20 week scan confirmed it was a Boy and she in fact gave birth to a Boy

My friend had one but it ended up being wrong. That’s why I won’t do it.

I can see gender at 12 weeks I still tell people it's not 100% because it's so early but in 4 years of doing ultrasound only had  one lady say that I got one of her twins wrong that's because the baby was in a really tough position to see it clearly so I told her a guess but I didn't know for sure which I told her. but I wont say gender 100% until 15-16  weeks
