12 hours of false labor ugh

Had contractions from 4p yesterday that progressively got extremely painful as the time went on. They were around 5-8 mins apart. Went to L and D and they hooked me up to the monitor until 3am and periodically checked my cervix. My contractions were peaking so high it was almost off the charts. I never dilated past 1cm so they said i wasn’t in real labor most likely and that I could stay overnight with an iv and see where we were at in the morning or go home and wait it out. So I decided to go home since I knew I would sleep a little better. Got home and was still in a ton of pain but eventually got 3 hours of sleep and when I woke up I was still having painful contractions but nothing compared to the ones I was having the night before. Ugh. This is the same thing that happened with my first pregnancy. I never dilated past 2cm and had to have a c section.
