It depends on how far along you were before miscarriage and if you miscarried naturally or D&C.; I’m currently bleeding from a chemical pregnancy lost at 4 weeks. My doctor did a vaginal ultrasound yesterday and said the is no need at all to wait, in fact it’s easier to get pregnant after some miscarriages as your body is very primed for pregnancy. In my case he saw follicles and eggs ready in both ovaries. I would say you need to see your doctor as every case is different. Sending positive and healing energy your way!

I had an early miscarriage at 4.5 weeks in December (I have short cycles of approximately 25 days), and then I had a D&C; today. Both times my doctor has said to wait one cycle, so wait to start trying until after my next period. She says it allows your body to "reset" and be fully prepared to carry.

My ob told me a couple years ago there was no medical reason to wait any amount of cycles and that as long as everything has passed it’s safe to try again right away. I had a d&c; and was cleared to try as soon as my bleeding stopped.

Ask your OB! Mine said to wait one cycle to make sure everything was functioning normally and your uterus has time to heal and ensure you have a healthy lining for next time.
