Periods getting longer and longer (NEXPLANON)

Okay so I don’t know what to do. I got my nexplanon inserted in February, and since then, my period have been getting longer and longer. In February, I had my period for 10 days. The following month of March, I had it for 12. In April, I had it for a total of 18 days! That’s more than half the month. It seems as if it’s not getting shorter. I’m currently on my period and it’s been going on for about 8 days now. I’m kind of sad because I feel like my sex life is going horribly because we can’t do anything about the blood. Also, I think my body is experiencing a lot of blood loss because during my last period that lasted 18 days, I had numbness in my arms and legs. Has anyone ever experienced this? What did you do and how did you fix it ? I don’t want to remove it, because I feel like it’s a very effective form of birth control. The side effects just really suck 😩
