Breastfeeding
Is anyone else absolutely disgusted by the whole "Free the Nipple Campaign"? Personally, I am. Why are women so indignant that they can't post topless pictures on social media, but then so quick to shame a mother breastfeeding? If you look up the tag on Instagram, it's all very young girls that I doubt are even of age. Why is it that as soon as people see breasts being used for what they're naturally supposed to, it's suddenly not acceptable? If they weren't meant to be used for breastfeeding, then we wouldn't produce milk. It's suddenly become such a big deal to accept the naked human body as it is, but it's still not okay to use it for one of its most natural functions. We allow our children to watch tv and walk through the mall and look at magazines where they will see breasts everywhere and we see that as normal. But we don't want our children to see a woman breastfeeding because it's "inappropriate"? What do these people think we did before formula came around? I know one thing for sure, I will breastfeed my son whenever he is hungry. I will not put someone else's sensitivity before the needs of my child. I am not an activist, I am not making a statement. I am a mother and I am nourishing my baby.
