I’m so confused?!

So I’ve heard people saying if you want to lose weight you should always eat breakfast, but eating will make you gain more weight, and since I have a slow metabolism, it’s hard to shed the weight off during the day. My goal is to lose around .3 pounds every day... does anyone have any tips or tricks to lose weight for people with a slow metabolism? I’m currently 5’8” and 158 pounds, and I started two months ago at 173. I’m aiming at 130 or 140 but it would seem like forever until I get there... help a girl out please
