Anyone have experience with a partner who had ADHD?

My boyfriend has ADHD, it's doesn't seem full on but he sometimes I can't tell if he's interested me as he zones out a lot, however I know other people experience that with him to. He's also very flighty with ideas and extremely fidgety.
How can you tell if someone with ADHD still cares or is interested? I know you can obviously communicated but he hasn't really discussed much about his ADHD with me so I feel it's a sensitive topic

My husband and daughter have adhd. Their minds just work differently. They think of millions of things at a time and even when they dont seem like they are paying attention they are, they just cant focus on one thing. One thing I have learned about adhd is that people with it are usually good at multi tasking. My husband recently started medication for his adhd and it seems to help some with keeping him more grounded in conversation but he will always be thinking about multiple things at once.

Have you tried communicating with him, telling him how you feel, and listening to what he says he feels? Adults do not show affection every minute of the day, that's just not how it works.  I think you may benefit from working on your self esteem. It seems like the real issue here is that you're not very secure with yourself and you're relationship, and you're depending on him to compensate your insecurities by giving you a certain amount if attention. If that is the case you're going to need to work on yourself and get a handle on it before it becomes a major issues in your relationship that cannot be fixed. 
However, if the issue here isn't that you're insecure,  it is genuinely that he isn't able to meet your needs and speak your love language in the relationship- and that's why you're insecure, then that's a pretty big indication you two just probably are  not right for each other and you may need to find more compatible partners in order to build a successful relationship. 
I'm not sure which of these insances is correct in your situation, but I think if you take the time to think on it, you will be able to tell.

My SO has ADD and honestly I've just gotten used to it. Sometimes I have to say his name multiple times,sometimes I just have to be patient with him. Most of the time he's very caring and sweet,you just have to be patient in order to communicate with him. Sometimes I have to ask questions multiple times, sometimes I have to work through the answers with him or he will get sidetracked,and if I get frustrated it overwhelms him and makes communicating harder for him. It's a problem he has with everyone though, and most people aren't patient enough to deal with it. Honestly though, it's obvious how much that boy loves me, and a lack of communication isn't always because they don't love you enough. For example, it makes it harder for him to communicate with me because of the way his exs treated him. They would yell at him if he was having trouble keeping up with what they were saying, or if he had trouble answering them right away,or if he said something they didn't like. Honestly, just be patient and try to understand their struggles. It will get easier the more you get used to it and the more you understand.

this is hard to answer.. i have adhd and my husband has pointed out to me that i seem cold sometimes. i love him very much-would do anything for him-but it's not what's on my mind all the time. it's like having wall to wall tv screens and you just keep clicking thru channels. i space out a lot and i forget to do things I've been reminded a hundred times to do. i still can't remember that Thursday is trash day and get the can to the curb on time. i forget to pay bills unless they're on auto pay. my husband says things like "i think about you all day and i do things for you that will make you happy but i feel like you never do that for me" and it makes me feel awful because he's been so wonderful and i just forget to show him affection. if he tells you he's interested in you and that he loves you, he probably does. and he probably thinks about you several times a day.. but he thinks about a billion other things too and it's not that you're less important than those other things it's just that those things are what's in his head at the time. don't worry too much. hang in there.

My partner has ADHD he’s very paranoid and always thinks I’m gonna leave him.. if we don’t have sex he instantly think Iv gone off him.. we sit and talk every week when I find him quiet and a bit down and once we’ve spoke he’s fine.. but he is also very fidgety. X
