Lots of discharge randomly?

Hi, I’m not actively trying to conceive, more so just trying to figure out my body. Backstory: I got off birth control a few months ago and haven’t had a period since. I have a lot of weight to lose so my periods were already very irregular. This past week I’ve noticed I’ve had a lot of discharge, it’s watery and sticky, very light cream color. I’ve heard this means you’re fertile, however my doctor has said I’m probably not ovulating or fertile right now with my weight. Could there be another cause for this sudden increase in discharge? It’s been about a week.
