Growth spurt and sleep training

My son is going to be nine moths on Friday and lately he just so upset moody tired fussy u name it.😢😪 he also is teething his top teeth r just about to come out just being pacient about it. But I do want to sleep train him I did go and sleep train him a few days this week but lately he just been so upset I been letting him fall asleep on me till he gets hot then put him in his crib and so far so good knock on wood. Is it bad that I’m giving him cuddles vs letting him cry for twenty five min and then try feeding him again
