Keep your vinegar to yourself please
Seriously, I don’t get why people feel like just because someone exists in a space nearby them that they can give that person unsolicited advice.
My twin brother has severe nerve damage and nerve pain due to an injury 2 years ago. He has numbness in his feet so he has a unsteady gait to his walk and he has trouble holding things and gripping with his hands because he has bad tremors. Some days he can barely get out of bed because of pain and then some days he gets around pretty well.
If I had a dollar for every time someone gave him random dumb advice when we were out together I could buy myself a very nice car. And that’s just when I’m out with him. He gets it every single day.
Today we were out just grabbing dinner together and catching up because I hadn’t seen him in a week. Some lady comes up to us and suggests soaking his hands in apple cider vinegar for an hour every day to cure his hand tremors.
Literally our faces as she said this sage piece of advice:

Won’t even lie, I had to find out what she thought this vinegar was going to do. Because it was either ask and figure out the depths of her thought process or lose all faith in humanity.
Apparently she believed it would absorb all of his “diseases” and we could literally toss it out the window when done. She even claimed it could cure cancer, but the “big pharma” didn’t want us to know about it.
My brother has a good sense of humor, he just thanked her for it and let her go on her way feeling accomplished.
Turns out this isn’t even the first time someone suggested this to him. Apparently someone told him to soak his feet in it a few weeks ago when they saw him limping.
Vinegar? Really? I could believe it could maybe remove impurities or something, sure. It has health benefits, I get it. But no it doesn’t cure nerve damage. If it did, my brother would be out doing cart wheels right now after a bath in the stuff instead of physical therapy and the medications his doctor has him on.
It just burns me up how people feel it’s perfectly acceptable to go up to someone and give out random advice when they have absolutely no clue what they are talking about. I get that they have good intentions or whatever. But it is really infuriating when they interrupt us and drone on for half an hour when we just want to talk to each other and hang out. It isn’t every day he feels up to going out like that, so when he does we try to make the best of it only for some random person to come lecture him about some obscure miracle cure.
