Does having a baby who measures ‘small’ end your chances of having baby in a midwife lead birthing unit?

As above, I’m measuring 6w behind and I’m wondering if this now makes me not meet the criteria for the birth place at my local hospital. 😭😭😭😭😭

Most likely as baby's heart rate will need to be continuously monitored in Labour as if baby is measuring small it is more likely to be stressed out by labour, therefore the intermittent listening in which is done in a low risk birth centre isn't enough. However, everything is your choice and no one can take that from you, all they can do is advise & recommend you! 😊

i wouldn't of thought so if you have any worries i would speak to your midwife and put your mind at rest

I don’t think so. My baby is small. Estimated at just under 7lbs and no ones said anything about it effecting place of birth. Unless they have good reason to be worried I don’t see why you shouldn’t get your wish.

I measured small the whole time with my first and she came at 6lb9oz and I had a normal delivery with no extra help/ support needed. I'm also currently measuring 3 weeks behind with this pregnancy. But just remember that the scans aren't always accurate :)

I was induced due to IUGR with my first and  the only point I saw an OB was when babies heartbeat started to slow. Other than that I had only midwives around me. 
Saying this, your hospital may be slightly different. It’s best to ask your midwife.
