Schools

Toast • *Black Lives Matter* and Happy Pride Month everyone!

You know how schools have budget cuts, I was on the controversy about obesity being caused by schools and I realized a lot of the answers were about more physical ed so I have this controversy.

On average a school solely funds academics and athletics more than the arts. The kids that aren’t fond of athletics are usually very spiteful that say drama got cut so the gym could get new floors. There is usually about 3 gym teachers at all the schools I’ve been. Also a lot of gym class is just having to run laps and then not doing anything because you can either play basketball or volleyball which not everyone cares for.

My question is do you think schools should stop focusing on athletics and sports? Should they have more options in gym so that students that don’t particularly like running laps can still get exercise? Which do you think is more important arts or athletics?
