Should we limit what lanes semi trucks and other large vehicles can use?
So I'm not sure how it works everywhere else, but in Phoenix all freeways are three to four lanes, not including the HOV lane. The far right lane is for people driving slower, the middle is for people going a little faster, and the far left lane is for people driving faster. Semi trucks, busses, etc are allowed to drive in any lane except the HOV lane.
I'll also include screenshots from an article I found on car-truck road safety, although I'm not sure of the credibility.
Bonus question:
Do you think limiting the lanes larger vehicles can use will increase or decrease the accident rate between cars and larger vehicles?
Do you think limiting lanes will improve traffic flow? Why or why not?
By the way, I don't have any opinion on it one way or another. This was just a passing thought in my head while on the road to my son's post op appointment this morning.
