Does it hurt?

I’m 7 1/2 weeks postpartum and getting an IUD (Liletta) put in next week. I was feeling really good about it until the appointment scheduler told me to take an ibuprofen an hour before the appointment. Now I’m nervous. Lol. Does it hurt??
Update: Got it put in today and it didn’t hurt at all! Thank you for all of your comments, ladies! ♥️♥️♥️

Yes, but it doesn’t last long. Just breathe through it like a contraction and you’ll be good.

I had mine placed six weeks after I had my second child, I was expecting it to be really painful because of what my friends had said, but honestly it was totally painless for me. Good luck!

Depends. Some women it’s completely painless, yet for me I was vomiting in pain for five days after and couldn’t go to work because of it but I was an extreme case. Good luck!!

For me it was uncomfortable of course like expected but I was okay I got it done 3 weeks ago and I'm still bleeding but ive been having  a lot of problems after having my son with cyst and shit and my OB thought this would help the pain and it is not so I'm debating if I should leave it in. But you'll be good just take advil before you go!

It hurt a lot for like 2 min when they were inserting it! I did have veeeeery intense cramps afterwards for the next 2-3 days. Basically the whole thing was a really bad cramp/contraction but it is temporary :). I love my IUD now!

Yea it’s painful but it’s so fleeting that it will be over with just as quickly as you feel it. I got mine two days ago and haven’t taken any ibuprofen since my insertion and I’ve felt as good as I normally do(:
