How to accept that I'm going to be a single mother?

I'm completely devastated by the fact that I couldn't break the cycle of a broken family. I wanted my son to have the family I never had, now I know he never will.

Don’t be down on yourself. Women are strong and have been raising children for a long time! Just because you won’t be with his father... doesn’t mean that with time, he won’t have a dad. There are lots of stand up guys out there!!! (And if not, you’ll do a great job as both mom & dad).

And sides, someone else might step up to be a dad. It doesn’t have to be the child’s biologically.
But even if you are a single mother, you can do this. It’ll be tough & difficult at times, but your baby will always remember who was there for them. You were.

I felt the same way after I left my ex. I thought I would be alone forever and my kids would never know the relationship of a dad. 4 years later, my SO adopted them and we just found out they’re going to have a sibling 😍 It sucks in the moment, I get that. But it gets better, Mama!
