Baby sick? Whooping cough??

My son has been sneezing quite a bit and has a semi-regular cough (meaning it’s not all the time but he does cough every day) and he’s 12 weeks old. He also had redness around his eyes. I was doing some reading about whooping cough and I have myself pretty freaked out. Did anyone’s baby have whooping cough?? What symptoms did they have??

My brother had whooping cough as an infant. (My mom got infected while pregnant on vacation and it was before it’s “come back” she hadn’t been vaccinated because the vaccine wasn’t available when she was a kid) the doctors didn’t know what she had and she infected my brother soon after birth. He coughed so hard all the time he couldn’t breath and you’d have to basically tip him over and beat him on the back to help him out. Spent 2 weeks in the icu. Don’t worry I doubt it’s whooping cough
