blood in diaper?

so my lo had light blood in his diaper yesterday (diaper) and is only making about 4-5 wet diapers a day.(for about 3 days now) and 1 diaper today was very light blood but still noticeable. What do you think this could be? has it happened to you? he's 8m old btw and I already took him and she said if it happens again I have to go back to her

Could be a dairy allergy or other sensitivity. It’s not uncommon for allergies to first show after 6 months.

Is it in the urine? If it’s in the urine it could be  uti.

Ok so the fact that it is bright red is actually good news! That means it’s probably something in the rectum or an anal fissure, it’s fresh blood. Dark black stool means processed blood, like an allergy or a food borne illness. If you see dark stool that only looks red when smeared, call your ped and ask if they can test it. Some pediatricians can test in house. Mine had me take the diaper in to urgent care - it tested positive for blood and they told me to watch him for 2 more stools. If it had continued they would have admitted him, but he was behaving fine so they did not believe he had a food born illness like e-coli or salmonella or any reason to admit him.
