Mother in law Drama...

So, my husband and I are going on a anniversary vacation. We are leaving our daughter for the very first time 😨

I’m not very comfortable with my mother in law watching our daughter at this young of age. Maybe when she is old enough to call me, is fully potty trained and able to do most things for herself... MIL just says things to her that concern me.

For example: “Someday I’m going to teach you not to love your mommy and only to love Grandma. We don’t like your mommy, do we?” Or my personal favorite “I sure hope you don’t look like your mom.” 🙄

Maybe it’s not a big deal, but, it bothers me. Don’t put a wedge between Mom and daughter. Anyways...

So of course my mom is watching her for the 5 days we are gone.

MIL is pissed. 🤷🏻‍♀️ yelling at my husband. Telling him how ungrateful he is. Saying things about my mom and me. 🙄 and she wonders why my mom is watching her and not MIL

I’m really trying not to get involved. She sent me a text saying she wants to spend a week alone with our daughter next month. I’m just ignoring it for now. It’s going to come up again, I know it will.

Is it rude if I simply say “When she is older we can talk about it. Right now I’m just not ready for that.” I know she’ll bring up my mom watching her and bla bla bla...

What would you say?
