D&C vs a pill? Need guidance

Question

I went in for my 10 week exam to find my baby stopped growing at 7 weeks. No heartbeat. Any chance I'll naturally miscarry or do I have to do the D&C or the pill?
I'm so confused reading various posts in this group. 
My nurse sister in law advises a D&C over the pill. 
Also how do you get explanation for why my baby didn't survive? I'm so devastated. I want to know why. 
We tried for almost 2 years for a baby and I am so sad to lose my peanut. 
I'm so scared of the process of the actual miscarriage, natural, D&C or with the pill.

I'm so sorry for your loss 😔😔😔 it's not easy to deal with miscarriage and it makes it even worst that the answer we get is "it happens.... It's  common.... Just unlucky" but all those reasons are valid. Miscarriages are so common but not spoken about so when it does happen it hurts that much more. I had a d&c and I'm so glad I went that route. It was quick and mostly painless and it helped bring "closure" to everything. I wasn't waiting around for the injection or pill to do its job. Good luck with whatever u decide ❤️ if I had to choose again though I would choose the d&c again.

I was just told it happens. I when with the pills because I was told I would have to wait up to two weeks before I could be scheduled for a D&C and I had to live my life like nothing was wrong for those two weeks I couldn't do that knowing that I had a missed miscarriage. I was suppose to be 11 weeks 3 days and measured 8 weeks 2 days. I have to say I'll NEVER do the pills again! My OB told me it wouldn't be bad because it was early. You pretty much go through labor your water breaks and everything. I had an ultrasound where I measured 8 weeks 2 days and the fetus looked just like it. They told me the placenta would look like the size of a golf ball but it wasn't. It took two days for me to pass the placenta but I though I passed it two days earlier. It was more of the size of a base ball. It hurt worse then passing the fetus since I wasn't on any pain meds by then. I was driving when the contractions started and I didn't know what was happening it took two hours to pass with contractions. I went to my OB the same to day to have another ultrasound and there was still tissue left so I had to take three more pills orally nothing happened. Then I went back still tissue in the ultrasound put four more pills in me nothing happened. Went back still tissue told they would schedule me for a D&C got me in the next day. That night I had really bad cramps passed some tissue and there was still some in there when they did the D&C.
This all started June 15th and I got a D&C June 30th. I bleed from June 17th to July 3rd. It was the worse experience and it took a while to get the D&C. I bleed a lot the first two days I went through 3 packs of 32 count heavy pads. By the end I went through about 5 boxes.

If I had to do it over again I would have fought to have a D&C in the beginning. I will NEVER take the pills again!

I naturally MCd because it felt like it's what I needed to do. I've heard the pill causes excruciating labor pain. While naturally MCing you will still feel contractions, it shouldn't be as intense as the pill. I opted to not do a D&C but my OB was going to schedule it anyways if I didn't MC 2 weeks from my first U/S where I learned I was going to Mc. Luckily it happened on day 13 of my 2 week wait to miscarry...

D&C. My baby died at 6 weeks but we didn't know until 9 weeks at the ultrasound. It is devastating, but I can't imagine waiting to pass everything while grieving. The D&C is just as sad, but much faster. I'm happy I chose that, but woke from the procedure crying. None of the options are easy. Do what you feel in your heart. I felt like I needed it to end quickly so I could move on. Good luck, and sorry for your loss.

I did the pill, I was scared because they said if you didn't bleed within 48 hours take the other 4 pills. I did bleed and felt bad that day just stayed in bed with a heating pad. I was also prescribed pain pills but didn't need them. I was 8 weeks when we lost the heartbeat. If I had to do it again I would take the pill again. I just saw a lot of blood and a clot and that was my baby :( It's hard but I rather be at home with hubs to comfort me. Plus I miscarried Christmas Eve Eve so the holidays were especially hard last year.

Most docs will advise the pills bc it's less invasive. But the pills never worked for me. I have had two mc and tried pills both times, but ended up being forced into a d and c bc there was still tissue in my uterus. All the pregnancy contents have to be out to prevent infection. They will do an ultrasound a week or so after you try to the pills and some doctors will tell you to repeat the pills (which I did), but if there is still any content then they may advise a D&C. I choose the pill and everything went well. The recovery is quicker and less chance of scar tissue build up. I got pregnant twoomyhs later and am now 33 weeks. Good luck to you!

Sorry for you loss hun. At 9 weeks I was only measuring at 6 weeks and no heartbeat. To me it felt like my body had no idea the baby had passed away and didn't know how long it would take it realise. As I work fulltime going through a natural miscarriage at work I thought would be a little too traumatic. The pill is much the same as a natural they just bring it on quicker. For me D&C was the only way that made sense. It was quick and not traumatic. I believe I got closer a lot faster having the D&C. It's a personal choice depending on many factors. Do what seems right for you and your body. X

I miscarried on June 12 naturally. I do not recomend this.  I was supposed to be 14 weeks 3 days baby was measured at 9 weeks. He told me the fetus stopped developing shortly after my 10 week appointment and it shrunk down to 9 weeks. I was so shocked and devastated that I just went home without the pill or a d&c. It was all offered, but I thought it might be better to do it naturally. It's definitely not. On the 13th I went through labor and it took 3 days to pass the sac. If I had to do it over again, I would get a d&c. Even though there is a chance for scarring, I think I would have been able to go through it faster. With spotting, I bled for 3.5 weeks.

My baby never developed but the sac and placenta did. I was told I could wait (a few weeks up to 6 months), but was told it really depended on how long I wanted to wait. Mentally and emotionally I don't think I could have continued to wait, and I also knew we wanted to TTC again ASAP! So I opted to do the d&c/d&e. It wasn't painful, I didn't cramp, and I bled lightly for a week. I'm back to normal and waiting on AF to try again. If I had to do it over I would do it the same way. It provided me with closure and finality to my situation. It's still heartbreaking and I have days where I cry. My doctor who has been super supportive reminded me that it's a lot faster of a recovery physically than it is emotionally.
