Always assumed I couldn’t get pregnant...

Hi everyone,

I’m 31 and I’ve always assumed I couldn’t get pregnant because I was in a relationship from the age of 14 to 21 and had ‘accidents’ and never conceived. Then I was in a relationship for 9 years with my ex and we didn’t ever bother using protection and I didn’t get pregnant (although it was a long distance relationship so only really had sex once a week most of the time) he had two kids by someone else so I just thought there must be something wrong with me. I was tested and scanned for polycystic ovaries due to my irregular periods and was told I didn’t have that either.

Now I’m with a new partner. He is a dad to one and he is 47 years old. When we got together I told him I didn’t think I could get pregnant so we’ve never used any protection either. We live together and have a very active sex life so I know the chance of getting pregnant will be higher than with my ex. My periods have been regular for quite some time now and usually starts around the 29/30th of the month but i haven’t had my period since the end of June now.

I was wondering if anyone has a similar story to mine as I’m starting to worry I’m pregnant now. I don’t want my new partner thinking that I lied about not being able to have babies 😞

Also when is best for me to do a test?
