Would you let your elementary aged child create YouTube content?

Question

If no.. how old would they have to be for you to be ok with it?
If you don’t have kids, hypothetically how would you feel?

My eldest daughter has expressed a desire to shoot cello videos and to “teach” how to play cello. She says she is a child(aged 10) and she could teach kids (her kids) how to play. We created a channel for her. She has 3 videos, we monitor everything, we have blocked certain words and comments, so even if they try to comment slanders, they cant. We have left one email address which is my husbands, in case someone wants to contact for performances and etc. 
We monitor everything, however the good side is she is getting passionate about it and she puts a lot of effort into it, she practices more and tries to be the best. I like what i see in her. 
We have told her, when she is mature enough, she will be given all passwords, all information and she could handle all of the information and content on her channel. Until she grows up, she has agreed that mummy and daddy can help her.

Depends on what they’re thinking of talking about on there and how much time they plan to dedicate to it. If I decide that it’s fine I will obviously monitor it 100%.

Maybe once they’re a teenager, but as a child, no. What would they even be creating? Even as a teenager it’s iffy, but many teenagers stream their video games so I could see them doing that.

I’m fine with it. Personally I wouldn’t even monitor it after the first few videos as long as we had a certain degree of trust between us regarding the content of the videos. YouTube is a little different from other social media in the aspect that dm’ing isn’t really a thing so there isn’t worry of private harassment. I used to put up my speed paints as a kid and I had no issues with it at all, my parents didn’t even know about it and still don’t lmfao. It was all innocent and I’d allow something like that at just about any age without issue.

My daughter does. She’s 9 and she posts videos under my account for slime making tutorials or “silly pranks “. She already KNOWS not to use her real name, age, location etc.  I’m there with her.

My 10 year old has asked off and on for the past couple of years to create a youtube channel. His Dad and I have finally agreed, but with rules attached. We're the keeper of the password and he doesn't get to know it. We prewatch any video before it gets posted. There's to be no personal information given anywhere. He's not allowed to record his little sister. Those are just the basics. In 6 months, he's uploaded maybe 4 videos. I think the excitment of it has finally wore off and he got bored with it. 😁

No unless you have all of your child’s pass words and looking over what is going on and who is watching. There are creeps that watch videos of younger children doing the most innocent things and get off to it. I personally would wait until about 15, and even then still have all the passwords... ect. Stay safe!
