What do you prefer for potty training? 🚽

I’m new to all this. My sons showing signs he may be ready to start but I’m really unsure where to start. Do you recommend the ring that attaches to the regular toilet or their own separate potty?

All 3 of my kids have had their own potty seat. My daughter is just starting (19months) both my boys were potty trained by 2 and a half. I just let them run around with no diaper and have the potty seat in the area where they are playing. This way they can get on and off by them selves and its close to them when they need to go.  When they get the hang of it I move the potty seat to the bathroom.

We have this and love it! My 5 year old niece comes to our house and uses it as well. Her parents are going to get her one because even at 5 holding herself on a big toilet is hard. That hole is so huge. 
(I also like that I don’t have to take it off and leave it on the floor 🤢)

We have used a ring type seat that sat on the adult potty, a separate toddler toilet and then just the regular potty for 3 different boys.
My third is only pee trained at the moment and he pees standing up by the adult toilet.
So be prepared with all 3 and go with what the kid likes?  Depending on the kid, what is used may matter.

I like the separate toddler potty bc of being able to hype it up as "just for you"

(She refuses to sit on it any way besides sideways lol)

I did a seat attachment for our son because I didn't want to have to potty train him on a toddler potty, then all over again getting him to go on a normal potty. Plus I didn't want to be carrying around a toddler potty for outtings.

I find the ring on the toilet super messy and unsanitary lol pee gets everywhere regardless but I find it gets more when they have to try to get on a big ass toilet quickly. If you do the ring you’ll be cleaning the toilet every time you need to sit down cause it will likely have pee on it lol
