2 days late but perfect

I’ve never really wrote down my birth story yet so it may be a little rough around the edges.. please bare with me.

I started contractions around 2:30 in the morning. They were bearable... I honestly didn’t realize that they were contractions until I started timing them and noticed they were getting stronger.

Around 3:30 I ran myself a hot bath to relax added some epson salt and waited it out for a hour 1/2. I woke up my boyfriend at 5- he was not convinced that I was really having contractions. He thought I was making it up actually (we had one false labor a week prior.

At 6 we left our apartment- we live on the third floor AND LET ME TELL YOU WHAT... those stairs are the devil. Our hospital wasn’t even a 10 minute car ride normally but my boyfriend I guess figured that if he drove slow I wouldn’t feel the bumps that bad. Wrong.

We got to the hospital and I was 21/2 cm dilated. They made me walk around so they could check me again in 2 hours. I was in so much pain I made them check at 1 1/2 hours. I was 4 1/2 and was able to get into a delivery room now.

As soon as I got into my room they called for my epidural (thank god) and for pain medicine in my IV.

At 10 they came into give my pain medicine and then at noon they came back to check on me. I was fully dilated and they broke my water. They told me to take a nap and they would be back in a hour. As soon as I got comfortable enough to nap I heard a little knock on the door and it was time to push.

10 minutes of pushing later and my little girl was born. Happy healthy and

chubby.
