Anyone have curly haired daughter or son? I have straight hair and wanted advice!

I have super straight hair and my 15 mo daughter has ringlet curls? Any advice on how to care? Should I condition or use a special product? They sometimes look tangly.

A big thing is to not wash the hair every day.
Curly hair needs a chance to retain moisture.
Depending how curly the hair, maybe twice a week.

It's a lot of trial and error. My daughter has a thick mass of curls. I tried the curly girl method and it didn't work well for us. Now we do a leave in conditioner and it does the job. I also use a wide tooth comb and only comb her hair when wet.

I never use bottle conditioner as it is so heavy, but a leave in conditioner like “It’s a 10” (the lite version) and a Johnson and Johnson detangler would work perfect. If you notice a lot of dryness, a little Morrocan Oil would help also to protect, add shine, prevent breakage. (Walmart has a really good brand)

I tried a leave in conditioner that matched the conditioner I used for ours but t was too heavy for his hair. I use the Johnson & Johnson detangler spray and that helps

Shampoo, condition, comb hair in shower while conditioner is in the hair, then gently rinse the conditioner out without tangling the hair. Basically from the moment you comb in the shower, you need to be careful to keep the hair as it is and not touch it!!! 
Combing and rinsing our conditioner in the shower is the last step in shower. Then you put a towel on her head (you can flip her hair, that’s okay, but don’t dry with a towel! Keep it intact as much as possible). 
I typically put a curl cream afterwards, keeping the strands of curl together. No more combing after the shower, let it naturally dry.

Washing it with baby shampoo when she’s little and switch out around 6 to a regular hydrating for curls shampoo. We use detangling spray, and a leave in conditioner of some sort.
Only brush when wet! I used to do braids almost everyday because her hair would get crazy but i got her hair wet first and it did whatever I needed and stayed. Her hair was pretty thin when she was younger, now  at 10 it’s very thick. 
I feel bad because I have stick straight hair and  she has her dads ringlets and I don’t always have the best advice. Luckily my sister has curly hair and we ask her. One year for Christmas she got her a whole kit of her favorite curly hair products and brushes

Mom to a toddler with tight ringlet curls. It was a LOT of trial and error for us and still is occasionally. For us we only wash with shampoo once a week, we still use conditioner and cowash 3-4 times a week. Wide tooth combs only and I frequently use them with conditioner in her hair it helps some. Afterwards I put a leave in conditioner in her hair (it took us a long time to find a product that worked for us and wasn’t too heavy) and she has satin pillowcases and she will wear a satin bonnet to bed most of the time. It’s a lot of trial and error. What works for one kid won’t work for the rest. I’ve even went to Sally’s and Ulta with my daughter and showed them her hair and explained what I need and they have given suggestions.
