Outside only dog?
So my husband's brother (Dave) and his family just got a new puppy, little golden lab. They had a black lab that they just had to put down of 14 yrs, poor thing could hardly keep her head up anymore. Anyway, their last dog was an outside dog, as my SIL is very allergic to dogs. I guess the dog had a very nice house set up in the insulated garage, complete with hay in the winter to keep it warm, as they live in Norther Minnesota. Now, my husband's sister (I'll call her Sue) never agreed with the dog never being allowed in the house, and was VERY vocal about the situation. Now that this new pup is in my BIL house, Sue is all but throwing a fit that this dog will also be an outside dog. Sue thinks that they shouldn't even be allowed to have a pet if it's not going to be in the house. My husband and I are not getting in the middle of these two, since they will literally fight over what color grass is, but I was wondering what you all thought. Their last dog was well loved and clearly lead a long, healthy life for 14 yrs. **** I would like to edit, we live in Florida and tho I we have a pitty, I don't really know persinally how freaking cold it gets up there, nor how dogs adapt to the weather.
