Can you love yourself and still not be satisfied with your appearance
To give a little context to the question. Ill use myself as an example.
When talking to friends and family about seeking plastic surgery i get mixed responses. Some are supportive 100% off the bat. Others will ask "why dont u just work out" or the dreadful "u should love yourself the way u are".
The problem i have with that is i do love myself, but does wanting plastic surgery or to change my appearance in any way equate to not loving myself?
Bonus:
And how is going under the knife automatically assumed that said person doesn't love themselves?
Is it really that much different than someone working out to get the same result?
Also why is plastic surgery recipients shamed for getting work done does that not qualify as body shaming?
