Do you believe texting and driving should be legal?
The post about the semi and the school bus got me thinking. This is something that's been bothering me for quite some time.. Where i live in Missouri, its legal to text and drive if youre over the age of 21. It's not only EXHAUSTING trying to drive behind everyone in traffic but we have sooo many accidents. In MO they focus more on drinking and driving and buckling your seatbeat. I wish it wasnt legal because my mom drives with my younger sister in the back seat and barely looks at the road with her phone in hand. When im in the car with her I get so nervous that we will get into an accident(and im pregnant so im way more fearful about these things) ive tried talking with her but its simply a nightmare as she just tells me "Well its legal so"
It's practically impossible to get anywhere because nobody pays attention to where they are going.
MO law: legal to text and drive over the age of 21
If you say no, is there any ideas that you have so i could at least convince my mom to transport my siblings safely? She hits curbs and drives on the wrong side of the road because she cannot put her phone down. Ive tried taking it and she just gets pissed off. I also made her to agree to at least not text while she's driving me or my sisters, to which she agreed but that didnt last long.
